Dadeville Historic District, Christmas Tour 2024

The Dadeville Historic District Committee is pleased to announce The Dadeville Historic District Christmas Tour 2024. The tour will be a self-guided tour of both historic homes and buildings that are on or in, the immediate Square area. The tour is sponsored by the Dadeville Historic District, in honor of Mr. Bill Ponder, with all proceeds benefiting the Dadeville Historic District.

Date: Sunday, December 8, 2024
Time: The historic sites will be open from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Tour Starts at: Zazu's Verandah, where you’ll get a wrist band, the tour map, and purchase a ticket if you haven’t already.
David Jones Music will be playing Christmas Music at Zazu’s Verandah from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Light snacks will be provided and there will be a cash bar.

Price of tickets = $25 each and can be purchased Tallapoosa Nutrition on the Dadeville Square. Open daily; Monday – Friday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturday, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Not only will we light the sky with a million colors, but we have two great bands that will have you tapping a toe and singing along!

Up first, The Bank Walkers, Lake Martin’s Favorite cover band will kick things off at 6:30 with some new tunes on their set list – so make sure you claim your spot early!

Following The Bank Walkers and our traditional Hula Hoop contest is Taylor Hicks! From Birmingham, Alabama Taylor has just about done it all! He bought his first harmonica for $2 when he was 16 and won American Idol when he was 29! He has always stayed busy! He spent years headlining shows in Las Vegas and has performed with the likes of Widespread Panic, James Brown, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, Drive-By Truckers, Robert Randolph, Snoop Dogg and Keb Mo. Taylor will take the stage from 8-9!

As Scott Blake sings our National Anthem at 9pm, the Southeasts Largest Fireworks display will be shot from behind the stage and for about 30 minutes we will color the sky with brilliance!

Then Taylor’s Band will take the stage for another hour! WHAT A GREAT NIGHT!

The 4th of July Boat Parade is a long-standing Lake Martin tradition, and it seems to grow every year.

Scores of boats slowly parade from Kowaliga Marina to Children’s Harbor in a festive and patriotic holiday display. Prizes are awarded for Tallest Flag, Largest Flag, Most Creative theme, and Most Patriotic Crew. Two prizes are awarded for each category.

First prize is a $150 Russell Marine gift certificate, and second prize is a $75 gift certificate.

Best Overall and Crew receives $500 in cash!

Time flies when you’re having FUN!)  when we started Friday On The Green, Sid Phelps had recently won Kowaliga Idol and became one of the 4 acts that played FOG that year. Every year since then, Sid manages to find time in his busy work schedule as a singer/songwriter, the CEO of Phelps Farms and as E-Commerce Director at Bonnie Plants to come sing and play for us!
